Founder's Day is almost here, and in conjunction we will be celebrating the completion of the Eta Second Century building project. With the additional space, we will happily be able to accommodate everyone at the house at 201 Gray. Along with the traditional Founder's Day testimonials, Legacy Fund awards, scholarships, and award presentations, we will be welcoming President Wintersteen and Interim Ag Dean Joe Colletti to help us cut the ribbon on the house addition.

School has started! The undergrads have moved back into a house that has changed significantly over the summer. All 27 new initiates are accommodated and all of the brothers can see light at the end of the tunnel. New study rooms are nearly completed, the existing study rooms have been professionally cleaned and painted, and all have air conditioning installed (although not all connections are made yet). Rec room, laundry room, and Blue Room are scheduled for completion next week; dining room end of Labor Day week; foyer, new chapter room, and living room in October. Photos below!
We are extremely pleased with how things are going with construction – look for an update on an open house and ribbon cutting very soon!
We have raised $1.4 million so far of our stretch goal of $2.0 million. If you are a donor to the project, thank you!
If you have not yet pledged to the project we ask for your consideration of a gift. Pledges are tax-deductible and can be spread over 5 years, and any amounts are sincerely appreciated – from $100 to $10,000. Your support of this project helps position AGR for its Second Century. The Second Century campaign officially kicked off this spring with a successful ground breaking event. Undergraduate and alumni members met in the formal living room on March 31st for the beginning of ceremony. We were entertained by keynote addresses from AGR member and Iowa State University President, Steven Leath as well as Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Dr. Wendy Wintersteen. The event concluded with a golden shovel presentation on the North side of the fraternity.
Spring is almost here, and that means the Second Century AGR house addition is almost underway! We will hold an short ground breaking Friday March 31st at 4:00pm in Ames. We welcome you to come to the house to join us. We will be posting photos of the groundbreaking, and the progress of the construction, on our campaign website at this page.
